Kia has had a fairly eventful summer, as they have officially debuted two new vehicles that will be added to their fleet this fall. The two vehicles are very different from each other, but they each satisfy a need in the Kia lineup. These vehicles are the 2018 Kia Stonic, and the 2018 Kia Stinger.
2018 Kia Stonic
Kia’s newest crossover comes with some distinctive European design implements. The sleek crossover is sure to turn heads when it gets out on the pavement. The name ‘Stonic’ is true to the crossover’s personality, as it is a combination of ‘speedy’ and ‘tonic’.
The Stonic is set to be highly customizable; according to Kia, the Stonic will be the most customizable Kia ever, in both its interior and its exterior. The Stonic was built to combine and blend together styles and designs to make it a sleek, luxurious, and sporty crossover.
2018 Kia Stinger
This vehicle brings Kia out of their comfort zone with a sports sedan. The Kia Stinger was originally debuted in 2014 as a GT-concept. The vehicle has come a long way since this debut, as it is now a sedan, but it hasn’t lost its aggressive and sporty exterior.
It is easy to see some of the European influence that went into the designing of this vehicle. Taking some clues from European automakers, Kia has innovated a vehicle that will compete with the traditional sports sedans.
The Stinger will definitely not lack for power when it makes its way to the roads in the fall. Both engine options are turbocharged, with the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine taking the lead in power with an impressive 365 horsepower. The smaller engine is a 2.0-liter with four cylinders and 255 horsepower. Both of the engines will feature an 8-speed automatic transmission
Kia has fit both the Stinger and the Stonic into its lineup, satisfying two niches that had previously been lacking. It will be interesting to see how these two new Kia vehicles take on their competitors. One thing is certain; both of these vehicles will make a great impression on the road this fall.
